Very expected game in Logrono where 10th ranked Promete (7-12) was defeated by third ranked Argon Uni Girona (15-4) 73-57 on Friday. Argon Uni Girona outrebounded Promete 37-25 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for international point guard Marta Xargay-Casademont (181-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points. Sonja Vasic helped adding 10 points and 11 rebounds. Five Argon Uni Girona players scored in double figures. At the losing side Venezuelan point guard Roselis Silva (166-91, college: Arkansas Tech) responded with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals and Mozambican power forward Leia Dongue (185-91) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Gernika. Newly promoted Promete keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Argon Uni Girona will meet at home league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Promete will play against Maquinaria Ensino (#6) in Lugo and hope to secure a win.
