Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Saint-Quentin (4-13) was defeated at home by second ranked Quimper UJAP (13-4) 80-65 on Friday. Quimper UJAP dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Saint-Quentin's 30. American David Jackson (192-86, college: W.Illinois) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Nigerian forward Chima Moneke (190-95, college: UC Davis) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-89, college: Windsor) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Ivorian point guard Jean-Francois Kebe (185-94) scored 14 points. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Quimper UJAP. They maintain second place with 13-4 record behind leader Blois. Saint-Quentin lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth position with 13 games lost. Quimper UJAP will face Denain Voltaire (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saint-Quentin will play against Sluc Nancy (#3) and hope to win that game.
