Very important is a home loss of first ranked Lakers (36-11) against fourth ranked Trail Blazers (22-27) on Friday night. Host Lakers were defeated by Trail Blazers in a tough game in Los Angeles 119-127. Trail Blazers made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Lakers outrebounded Trail Blazers 61-40 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Trail Blazers made 8 blocks. Point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) fired a double-double by scoring 48 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) chipped in a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field). Center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks and LeBron James (203-84) added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trail Blazers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 22-27 record. Loser Lakers still keep top place with 11 games lost. Trail Blazers will meet at home league's second-placed Jazz in the next day and it may be the game of the week. Lakers will play against Kings in Sacramento and hope to secure a win.
