Regular Season Round 13: Lahti - Westside 72-61

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Westside (1-11) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Lahti (5-6) 72-61. It looked good early as Westside took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lahti took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 11 points. Guard Otso Nuutinen (191) nailed 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Arttu Nykanen (185-2) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Lahti players scored in double figures. Guard Tatu Lehtisyrja (199-2) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Teo Niinimaki (198-1) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Westside in the defeat. Lahti maintains seventh place with 5-6 record. Westside lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Lahti's next round opponent will be league's leader OBA in Espoo and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westside will play at home against Sykki (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
