Regular Season Round 20: Breakers - 36ers 113-89

Fifth ranked New Zealand Breakers (13-13) crushed at home 7th ranked Adelaide 36ers (12-14) by 24 points 113-89, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. New Zealand Breakers shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 54.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was New Zealand forward Thomas Abercrombie (198-87, college: WSU) who scored 31 points. New Zealand forward Finn Delany (198-95, college: SW Baptist) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Four New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Jack McVeigh (203-96, college: Nebraska) added 20 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. New Zealand Breakers maintains fifth position with 13-13 record. Adelaide 36ers lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 14 games lost. New Zealand Breakers will meet higher ranked Bullets (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Adelaide 36ers will play against Cairns Taipans and hope to secure a win.
