Bottom-ranked Korihait managed to get a sixth victory on Saturday night. This time they won against fourth-ranked KTP Basket in Uusikaupunki 91-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KTP Basket won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where KTP Basket used huge pressure winning it 22-21 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-18. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Trey Zeigler (196-91, college: TCU) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Kevin Ware (188-93, college: Georgia St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Four Korihait players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Byron Wesley (196-92, college: Gonzaga) who recorded 28 points and 9 rebounds and forward JayVaughn Pinkston (201-91, college: Villanova) added 9 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Korihait maintains twelfth position with 6-23 record. KTP Basket at the other side keeps the fourth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Pyrinto. Korihait are looking forward to face higher ranked Kauhajoki (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. KTP Basket will play against Ura Basket and is hoping to win this game.
