Regular Season Round 19: Udine - Vicenza 66-60

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Vicenza (1-17) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Udine (8-10) 66-60 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Udine dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Vicenza's 24. Latvian power forward Liga Vente (191-91, college: Eckerd) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Giulia Ianezic (174-0) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Federica Monaco (175-93) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Beatrice Olajide added 17 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Vicenza's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Udine moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Vicenza keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Udine will face Sarcedo (#11) at home in the next round. Vicenza will play against Bolzano BK (#4) and hope to win that game.
