The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Groningen (14-4) on the court of fifth ranked Leiden on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Leiden 81-73. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Groningen. Leiden forced 19 Groningen turnovers. American power forward Jarvis Williams (202-93, college: Murray St.) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international Worthy de-Jong (194-88) chipped in 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Four Leiden players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Carrington Love (185-94, college: Green Bay, agency: Inception Sports) with 26 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Thomas Koenis (210-89) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Groningen's coach Erik Braal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Leiden (10-6) moved-up to fourth place. Groningen at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Den Bosch. Leiden are looking forward to face Leeuwarden (#8) on the road in the next round. Groningen will play against Den Helder (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
