Another exciting game where third ranked Rivas (14-4) edged by three points second-best Quintanar (13-5) 67-64. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Quintanar. It was a key game for the second position in Group B. It was a good game for power forward Angel Gomez (197-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. American center Julien Sargent (211-91, college: Mobile, AL) contributed with 5 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Khion Sankey (196-92, college: Lipscomb) replied with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Polish swingman Fineto Lungwana (190-94, college: Erskine) added 20 points in the effort for Quintanar. Rivas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group B. Quintanar at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. Rivas will play against CB Guadalajara (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Quintanar will play against the league's leader Alcobendas (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
