Regular Season Round 16: Piestanske C. - Dubcek 69-48

Very expected game in Piestany where 6th ranked Dubcek (2-14) was crushed by second ranked Piestanske C. (12-4) 69-48. The winners were led by Canadian center Jessica Lubin (185-90, college: UQAM) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Katarina Tetemondova (188-88) supported her with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Piestanske C.'s coach Richard Kucsa felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds by point guard Barbora Seligova (171-92) did not help to save the game for Dubcek. Pavla Bertovic (182-88) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Piestanske C. maintains second position with 12-4 record having four points less than leader MBK Ruzomb. Dubcek lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Piestanske C. will play against Banska Bystrica (#5) on the road in the next round. Dubcek will play against Samorin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
