Regular Season Round 20: CD Puerto Varas - AB Ancud 69-78

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked AB Ancud (12-13) defeated on the road one of their biggest challengers CD Puerto Varas (12-15) 78-69 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jovonni Shuler (195-87, college: SSU) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Argentinian Lisandro Rasio (198-90) who added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Shuler attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) responded with 4 points and 16 rebounds and Nigerian-American George Williams (198-90, college: Wayland Baptist) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AB Ancud have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. CD Puerto Varas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost. AB Ancud will face Los Leones (#5) in Quilpue in the next round. CD Puerto Varas will play on the road against Temuco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
