Very expected game when 6th ranked Quilicura (4-23) was defeated at home by second ranked Universidad de Concepcion (15-14) 94-81 on Saturday. Universidad de Concepcion outrebounded Quilicura 45-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Quilicura was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Brandon Moss (208, college: LSUA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and international guard Diego Silva (186-93) who added 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. Universidad de Concepcion's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Timothy Simmons (195-92, college: DBU, agency: Prestige Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Abiodun Adegoke (203-91, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Universidad de Concepcion have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-14 record having five points less than leader Las Animas. Quilicura lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 23 games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will face league's second-placed Deportivo Valdivia at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quilicura will play against Puerto Montt (#3) and hope to win that game.
