Very important is a home loss of second ranked Alpo VF (14-4) against twelfth ranked Mantova (7-11) on Saturday night. Host Alpo VF was defeated by Mantova in a tough game in Verona 63-68. Mantova forced 23 Alpo VF turnovers. It was a great evening for power forward Elisa Ruffo (186-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. Mantova's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side swingman Elisa Policari (184-97) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Laura Reani (184-96) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Newly promoted Mantova maintains twelfth place in A2 with 7-11 record. Loser Alpo VF dropped to the third position with four games lost. Mantova will meet at home higher ranked Albino (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alpo VF will play against Scrivia (#6) and hope to secure a win.
