Regular Season Round 16: Barca CBS - Ardoi 58-51

The most important game in the last round took place in Barcelona between third ranked Ardoi (12-4) and sixth ranked Barca CBS (10-6) on Saturday night. Ardoi was defeated by Barca CBS in a tough game on the road 51-58. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Ardoi. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Marta Canella (178-95) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Xenia Artiga (183-99) contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Barca CBS's coach Isaac Fernandez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Amaya Gastaminza (189-91, college: Oregon St.) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian center Diana Cabrera (184-93) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ardoi. Barca CBS moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with Lima-Horta and Unicaja. Ardoi at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Barca CBS is looking forward to face Picken Claret (#13) in Valencia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ardoi will play at home against the league's second-placed Gran Canaria (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
