We should mention about the upset which took place in Bologna, where higher ranked Empoli (7-10) lost to thirteenth ranked Bologna (5-12) in a road game 62-71 on Saturday. Bologna forced 20 Empoli turnovers. American center Isabelle Harrison (190-93, college: Tennessee) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Spanish point guard Angela Salvadores (178-97, college: Duke) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Erin Mathias (193-95, college: Duke) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Stefania Trimboli (176-96) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Empoli players scored in double figures. Bologna moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Empoli dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Broni. Bologna will meet at home higher ranked Sesto SG (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Empoli will play against Torino and hope to secure a win.
