Regular Season Round 18: Calvia - Martorell 80-83

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Martorell (10-7) edged on the road bottom-ranked Calvia (6-11) 83-80 on Saturday. Calvia was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Marti Fonolla (193-96, college: Midland) who scored 17 points and 5 assists. Nil Bria (195-97) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was center Antoni Vicens (204-90) who recorded 25 points and 7 rebounds and Jaume Valles (203-95) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Martorell moved-up to fifth place in Group C-A, which they share with SESE. Loser Calvia dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
