Regular Season Round 17: Apollon P. - Napfliou 77-82

There was an upset when higher ranked Apollon P. (9-7) lost to ninth ranked Napfliou (7-10) in Patra 77-82 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Napfliou especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Dimitris Papantoniou (190-83) contributed with 11 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Napfliou players scored in double figures. Angelos Tsamis (192-81) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Australian guard Triantafillos Tzakopoulos (185-85) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for Apollon P.Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Napfliou have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Anatolia and Agriniou. Apollon P. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Napfliou will face higher ranked Eleftheroupoli (#7) in Kavalas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
