Regular Season Round 21: Monaco - Boulazac 82-80

A very interesting game took place in Monaco. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Boulazac (8-10) to seventeenth ranked Monaco (4-13) 82-80 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Monaco outrebounded Boulazac 48-28 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Boukhary Cissoko (198-0) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Senegalese center Mouhamadou Cisse (208-1) accounted for 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Monaco's coach Kenneth Grant allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Paul Billong (192-1) came up with 14 points and 7 assists and swingman Neftali Difuidi-Walokwa (193-1) added 17 points and 5 steals respectively for Boulazac in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Monaco moved-up to sixteenth place. Boulazac at the other side keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Monaco's next round opponent will be higher ranked Gravelines (#13) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
