Regular Season Round 13: Salon V. - OBA 65-78

Undefeated leader OBA delivered the eleventh consecutive victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Salon V. (2-10) 78-65. It looked good early as Salon V. took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then OBA had a 18-13 second period charge getting the lead and Salon V. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-78. They outrebounded Salon V. 48-34 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Niki Juntunen (188-1) nailed 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Ian Uwamungu (188-1) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Patrik Poutiainen (196-1) came up with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Niko Huoponen (183-1) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Salon V. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. OBA (11-0) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 11 victories in a row. Salon V. lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. OBA's next round opponent will be Lahti (#7) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Salon V. will play against the league's second-placed MuKi and hope to win that game.
