Regular Season Round 15: Uptown Cuts - Wolverines 98-87

Another exciting game was also this time a derby match between teams from Nassau: Uptown Cuts (#4) and Wolverines (#3). Uptown Cuts (5-7) won against visiting Wolverines (6-7) 98-87. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Wolverines. They outrebounded Wolverines 57-29 including a 41-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Uptown Cuts players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 33 personal fouls committed by Wolverines helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Colton Albury who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Mitch Bain (188, college: Iowa Lakes CC) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Uptown Cuts' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Dominique Fernander (, college: Hobart) answered with 27 points and 6 rebounds and Garvin Lightbourne added 17 points and 6 assists in the effort for Wolverines. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Uptown Cuts maintains fourth place with 5-7 record. Wolverines at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the third position with seven games lost. Uptown Cuts' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nassau to the arena Rebels.
