Regular Season Round 16: Real Canoe - GDKO Bizkaia 82-76

An interesting game for Real Canoe (12-4) which hosted in Madrid their biggest opponent GDKO Bizkaia (12-5). Third ranked Real Canoe managed to get a 6-point victory 82-76. It was a key game for the second position in Group A. Real Canoe forced 21 GDKO Bizkaia turnovers. Strangely GDKO Bizkaia outrebounded Real Canoe 52-29 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Macarena Roldan-Garcia (176-94) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Lucia Rodriguez (186-99) who added 15 points during the contest. Real Canoe's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Laura Arroyo (180-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and Alicia Villegas (174-94) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Real Canoe have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Ferrol. GDKO Bizkaia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Real Canoe will play against Alcobendas (#5) on the road in the next round. GDKO Bizkaia will play against Cortegada and hopes to get back on the winning track.
