Regular Season Round 16: Southside - Sydney Uni 78-61

Leader Southside Flyers delivered the seventeenth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Sydney Uni Flames (7-14) 78-61 in Dandenong. They outrebounded Sydney Uni Flames 36-20 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international forward Sara Blicavs (188-93) who scored that evening 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and American center Mercedes Russell (198-95, college: Tennessee) supported her with 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Southside Flyers players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Jessica Kuster (188-92, college: Rice) did not help to save the game for Sydney Uni Flames. The former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-96) added 9 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Southside Flyers maintains first position with 17-4 record. Sydney Uni Flames at the other side keep the sixth place with 14 games lost.
