Regular Season Round 18: Cazorla - Benahavis 89-77

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Cazorla (5-11) defeated at home 6th ranked Benahavis (6-10) 89-77 on Saturday. Cazorla made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cazorla made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was center Pedro Romera (210-88) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). British forward Joe Mvuezolo (197-96, college: Montana St.) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cazorla players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Evan Pellerin (199-82, college: Stonehill) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and guard Germinal Cabrita (188-86) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Cazorla moved-up to eighth place in Group D-A. Benahavis lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Cazorla will face higher ranked La Zubia (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
