Regular Season Round 19: Cagliari CUS - HS Lab 57-35

Bottom-ranked HS Lab (0-17) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 57-35 loss to seventh ranked Cagliari CUS (10-7) in Cagliari on Saturday evening. They also forced 30 HS Lab turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Paola Novati (184-98) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Arianna Arado produced 4 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks and forward Sara Ronchi (180-3) added 9 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cagliari CUS maintains seventh place in A2 with 10-7 record. Newly promoted HS Lab still closes the standings with 17 games lost. Cagliari CUS will face league's leader Campobasso at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. HS Lab will play against La Spezia (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
