Regular Season Round 18: Pas Pielagos - Baskonia 113-85

Everything went according to plan in Renedo de Pielagos where first ranked Pas Pielagos (13-4) outleveled 8th ranked Baskonia (9-8) 113-85 on Sunday. Pas Pielagos shot 63.9 percent from the field. The best player for the winners was Canadian-British forward Denzel James (191-94, college: MacEwan) who scored 30 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Alberto Garcia (196-99) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was Brazilian center Andre Barbosa (211-2) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Senegalese forward Pape Sow (203-3) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pas Pielagos have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-A with 13-4 record. Loser Baskonia keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Pas Pielagos will face Zarautz (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baskonia will play against La Fecha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
