Regular Season Round 15: Giannena - Eleutheria M. 68-75

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Giannena (4-11) was defeated at home by second ranked Eleutheria M. (11-4) 75-68. Strangely Giannena outrebounded Eleutheria M. 41-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward KeShunan James (184-94, college: Murray St.) who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 5 rebounds. International point guard Dionysia Alexandri (165-89) contributed with 18 points and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Acheil Tac (188-93, college: N.Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds and the other American import guard Sierra Calhoun (183-96, college: Rutgers) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Giannena. Eleutheria M. maintains second place with 11-4 record having four points less than leader Olympiacos, which they share with Panathinaikos. Giannena lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Eleutheria M. will play against Kronos AD (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giannena will play against Dafni Agioy in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
