Date: February 2, 2020
The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Puerto Montt's (15-13) road victory over one of their biggest challengers Universidad Catolica (14-15) 87-69 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Italian-Argentinian point guard Diego Gerbaudo (178-89) who added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. American guard DJ Ursery (193, college: Alaska-Anch.) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import Scott Cutley (196-85, college: CS Fullerton) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Montt have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Despite that victory Puerto Montt went down to third position due to points difference which they share with defeated Universidad Catolica. Loser Universidad Catolica keeps the third place with 15 games lost. Puerto Montt will face Quilicura (#6) at home in the next round. Universidad Catolica will play against CD Castro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
