No shocking result in a game in Ariano Irpino where sixth ranked Irpino (11-6) defeated 13th ranked Viterbo (4-13) 58-44 on Sunday. They outrebounded Viterbo 47-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. The former international center Valentina Fabbri (196-85, agency: SPORTlab Agency) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Guard Lucrezia Zanetti (175-97) chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Bulgarian power forward Katrin Stoichkova (180-99) produced 20 points and Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (187-84) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Irpino moved-up to fourth place in A2. Viterbo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Irpino will face Civitanova (#10) in Civitanova Marche in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Viterbo will play at home against Pistoia and hope to win that game.
