Regular Season Round 39: Bambitious N. - Tokyo EX 80-87

There was a small surprise in Nara where fourth ranked Tokyo EX (16-21) defeated their close opponent Bambitious N. (17-22) 87-80 on Sunday. Tokyo EX looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) who had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Tokyo EX's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and 21 rebounds and power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Bambitious N. players scored in double figures. Tokyo EX have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Tokyo EX maintains fourth place with 16-21 record which they share with defeated Bambitious N. Loser Bambitious N. keeps the fourth position with 22 games lost. Tokyo EX will face league's second-placed Kagawa FA in Takamatsu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bambitious N. will play on the road against the league's leader Dragonflies in Hiroshima and hope to win that game.
