Regular Season Round 39: Tokyo Z - Hiroshima D. 72-93

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Tokyo Z (9-30) was crushed at home by first ranked Dragonflies (32-7) 93-72 on Sunday. Dragonflies made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Dragonflies outrebounded Tokyo Z 37-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: Northwestern St.) who recorded 30 points and 8 rebounds and Nigerian-American center Nnanna Egwu (211-92, college: Illinois) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dragonflies maintains first place with 32-7 record. Tokyo Z lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 30 games lost. Dragonflies will face Bambitious N. (#4) in Nara in the next round. Tokyo Z will play on the road against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo and hope to win that game.
