Rather expected game when 6th ranked USE Basket (12-7) lost on the road to third ranked Firenze (15-4) 88-70 on Sunday. Firenze outrebounded USE Basket 43-22 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Davide Poltroneri (195-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Gino Cuccarolo (221-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Firenze players scored in double figures. Point guard Filippo Giannini (184-91) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Lorenzo Raffaelli (190-99, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 18 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in the effort for USE Basket. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Firenze maintains third position in B with 15-4 record behind leader Benedetto CE. Loser USE Basket dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. Firenze will face Oleggio (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
