There was an upset in Helsinki where higher ranked Oulun NMKY (8-8) was edged by tenth ranked MuKi (5-9) 85-82 on Sunday. Oulun NMKY was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 24-18 charge of MuKi, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Eric Wise (198-90, college: USC) fired 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Markus Rautasalo (180-0) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four MuKi players scored in double figures. MuKi's coach Jukka-Pekka Erakangas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Dedrick Basile (178-94, college: CSU Bakersfield) produced a double-double by scoring 32 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists and his fellow American import forward Anthony Townes (198-96, college: Pacific) added 24 points and 18 rebounds respectively for lost side. MuKi moved-up to ninth place in Division. Loser Oulun NMKY keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. MuKi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena HBA-Marsky.
