Regular Season Round 16: Hapoel H/M - Hod Hasharon 81-87

Very expected game when 13th ranked Hapoel H/M (4-12) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Hasharon (8-8) 87-81 on Sunday. Hasharon outrebounded Hapoel H/M 40-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Hapoel H/M was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican-American point guard TreVon Hughes (185-87, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists and American forward Jimmy Hall (203-94, college: Kent St.) who added 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Hasharon players scored in double figures. At the losing side U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-90, college: Murray St.) responded with 32 points and 6 rebounds and Orel Levi (-96) scored 28 points and 5 assists. Hapoel H/M's coach Alon Stein rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hasharon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with H.Galilee. Hapoel H/M lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Hasharon will face Maccabi Raanana (#10) at home in the next round. Hapoel H/M will play against Kiryat Motzkin and hope to win that game.
