Regular Season Round 34: Iwate Big Bulls - Toyoda Gosei 95-96

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Iwate Big Bulls (25-9) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by Toyoda Gosei (25-9) 96-95. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Toyoda Gosei looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Iwate Big Bulls helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. At the losing side American Justin Herold (202-91, college: Sonoma St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Canadian forward Erik Nissen (206-95, college: Acadia) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Toyoda Gosei and four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyoda Gosei used an opportunity after Iwate Big Bulls lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Iwate Big Bulls. Iwate Big Bulls lost fourth consecutive game. Toyoda Gosei is looking forward to face Shizuoka (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Saga B. (#4) and are hoping to win this game.
