Regular Season Round 18: Salou - Olivar 72-77

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Olivar (6-11) beat on the road higher ranked Salou (9-8) 77-72 on Sunday. Strangely Salou outrebounded Olivar 51-35 including a 26-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Salou was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Josep Cera (186-3) who scored 27 points. Alvaro Martinez (200-3) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Eduard Villacampa (204-85) who recorded 9 points and 12 rebounds and American forward CJ Barksdale (203-92, college: Virginia Tech) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Olivar moved-up to tenth place in Group C-B, which they share with JAC Sants. Loser Salou dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
