Regular Season Round 34: Shizuoka - Kagoshima 103-86

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Kagoshima (15-18) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Shizuoka (13-19) 103-86. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Shizuoka outrebounded Kagoshima 54-32 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Beninese forward Muusa Dama (207-96, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and point guard Yohei Fukuda (183-95) supported him with 28 points. Even 21 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) did not help to save the game for Kagoshima. His fellow American import forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) added 17 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Shizuoka maintains ninth position with 13-19 record. Kagoshima at the other side keeps the eighth place with 18 games lost. Shizuoka will play against league's second-placed Toyoda Gosei in Aichi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kagoshima will play at home against Tokyo CR (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
