Regular Season Round 20: Padova - Vicenza 73-69

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Padova (14-6) defeated at home 12th ranked Vicenza (7-13) 73-69 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Swingman Michele Ferrari (196-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Andrea Piazza (184-89) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Padova's coach Daniele Rubini used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Naturalized Argentinian center Diego Corral (204-86, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Gianmarco Conte (191-97) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Vicenza. Four Vicenza players scored in double figures. Padova maintains third position in B with 14-6 record having just two points less than leader Benedetto CE. Vicenza lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Padova will face Lecco (#5) on the road in the next round. Vicenza will play against Mestre (#9) and hope to win that game.
