Regular Season Round 15: Ullern - Ulriken 39-60

An interesting game for Ulriken (11-1) which played road game in Oslo against second-best Ullern (9-4). First ranked Ulriken had an easy win 60-39. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ullern. Ulriken held Ullern to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Ulriken forced 19 Ullern turnovers. It was a great evening for power forward Kari Kyrkjebo (182-1) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Stine Austgulen (180-94, college: Colorado St.) helped adding 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Ulriken's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Cecilia Gnaly (182-92) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and the former international center Tori Halvorsen (183-88, college: American) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Ulriken. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Ullern at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Ulriken will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ullern's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Hoybraten.
