Regular Season Round 19: Breidablik - FSU 91-77

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Breidablik as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Breidablik defeated 6th ranked FSU in Kopavogur 91-77. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 52-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Breidablik forced 20 FSU turnovers. Guard Hilmar Petursson (187-0) fired 22 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: Birm.Southern, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Breidablik players scored in double figures. American forward Christian Cunningham (201-97, college: Jacksonville St.) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds and Croatian guard Kristijan Vladovic (185-99) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. FSU's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Breidablik have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Hottur and Hamar. FSU at the other side keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. FSU will play next round against Snaefell trying to get back on the winning streak. Breidablik will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Skallagrimur in Borganes.
