Regular Season Round 20: Pato Basquete - Sao Paulo 86-106

Date: February 3, 2020
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Pato Basquete (2-16) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Sao Paulo (15-6) 106-86 on Monday. Sao Paulo shot 61.4 percent from the field and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Sao Paulo had a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Renan Lenz (206-90, college: Utah) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) who added 22 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. American forward Charles Funches (203-88, college: Hampton) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Luis-Gustavo de-Oliveira (190-91) scored 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Sao Paulo moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Pato Basquete stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Sao Paulo will face Minas (#5) in Belo Horizonte in the next round. Pato Basquete will play at home against the league's leader Flamengo (#1) and hope to win that game.
