Regular Season Round 18: Rishon - Beer Sheva 80-72

No shocking result in a game in Rishon Le-Zion where third ranked Rishon (12-6) defeated 9th ranked Beer Sheva (6-11) 80-72. Rishon made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Beer Sheva outrebounded Rishon 40-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. American power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: GMU) nailed 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and the former international swingman Adam Ariel (194-94) accounted for 21 points. American guard TJ Williams (190-94, college: Northeastern) came up with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import center Steve Zack (210-92, college: La Salle) added 12 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Beer Sheva in the defeat. Four Beer Sheva players scored in double figures. Rishon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-6 record having three points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Beer Sheva at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Rishon's next round opponent will be league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beer Sheva will play at home against Galil Gilboa (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
