Regular Season Round 16: Ashdod - Petah Tikva 97-65

Bottom-ranked Petah Tikva (0-16) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 16th consecutive match to fourth ranked Ashdod (10-6) 97-65. Ashdod forced 19 Petah Tikva turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Ashdod players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Petah Tikva's players. It was a very good performance for American forward Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: Cent Michigan) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. The other American import point guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St., agency: Ron Sport) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Four Ashdod players scored in double figures. Ashdod's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trinidad and Tobago-American forward Kellindra Zackery (185-88, college: Newman) replied with 21 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Petah Tikva. Ashdod moved-up to third place, which they share with Rishon Le-Zion. Petah Tikva at the other side still closes the standings. Ashdod's next round opponent will be Bnot Hertzeliya (#9) on the road where they are favorite. Petah Tikva will play against the league's leader Maccabi Ramat Gan and hopes to get finally their first victory.
