Regular Season Round 23: Kaysersberg - Besancon 81-67

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Besancon (6-17) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Kaysersberg (4-19) 81-67 on Tuesday. Kaysersberg shot 26 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Besancon only scored ten points from the stripe. They outrebounded Besancon 44-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Besancon was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Lithuanian guard Dovydas Redikas (193-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Melvyn Govindy (212-97) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Kaysersberg's coach Fabien Drago used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. British-Canadian forward Jermel Kennedy (201-89, college: Lander) responded with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Lithuanian forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) scored 16 points. Kaysersberg maintains thirteenth place in Group B with 4-19 record. Besancon lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Kaysersberg will face higher ranked La Charite (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
