Regular Season Round 28: Koping Stars - BC Lulea 65-76

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked BC Lulea and their biggest opponent Koping Stars had identical 19-6 record. But Koping Stars were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Lulea 76-65 on Tuesday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Koping Stars were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. BC Lulea made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Koping Stars were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Brandon Rozzell (188-89, college: VCU) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Denzel Andersson (203-96) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four BC Lulea players scored in double figures. BC Lulea's coach Peter Oqvist allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jeremy Combs (201-95, college: Texas Southern) replied with 21 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Gary Blackston (188-96, college: PVAMU, agency: Two Points) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Koping Stars. BC Lulea (20-6) moved-up to second place. Koping Stars lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with seven games lost. BC Lulea will face Umea (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koping Stars will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#7) and hope to win that game.
