Regular Season Round 15: Hammarby - KFUM Fry. 2 99-78

Date: February 4, 2020
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Stockholm: Hammarby (#5) and KFUM Fry. 2 (#8). Hammarby (7-5) crushed visiting KFUM Fry. 2 (3-10) by 21 points 99-78. The game was mostly controlled by Hammarby. KFUM Fry. 2 was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hammarby forced 24 KFUM Fry. 2 turnovers. Strangely KFUM Fry. 2 outrebounded Hammarby 49-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Fredrik Bjornsson (193-91) who scored 24 points and 5 steals. Center Noah Kelly (199-97) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Todor Nisavic who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and Elias Weibert added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hammarby maintains fifth place in South with 7-5 record. KFUM Fry. 2 lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Hammarby's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kalmar on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KFUM Fry. 2 will play against Eskilstuna (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
