Regular Season Round 18: Nancy - Saint-Quentin 100-72

Very expected game when 17th ranked Saint-Quentin (4-14) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Sluc Nancy (13-5) 100-72 on Tuesday. Sluc Nancy outrebounded Saint-Quentin 39-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. Sluc Nancy looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Cuban swingman Yunio Barrueta (193-93, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 28 points and 5 rebounds. American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Ivorian point guard Jean-Francois Kebe (185-94) who recorded 16 points and 5 assists and Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-89, college: Windsor) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sluc Nancy have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Blois. Saint-Quentin lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth place with 14 games lost. Sluc Nancy will face Aix-Maurienne (#13) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saint-Quentin will play on the road against Gries/Oberhoffen (#12) in Bischwiller and hope to win that game.
