There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Hawks (14-38) won against their close opponent Timberwolves (15-35) in Minnesota 127-120 on Wednesday. Hawks made 28-of-30 free shots (93.3 percent) during the game. Hawks outrebounded Timberwolves 44-33 including 37 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for guard Trae Young (188-98, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 11 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands-American John Collins (208-97, college: Wake Forest) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Canadian guard Andrew Wiggins (203-95, college: Kansas) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and Dominican-American power forward Karl-Anthony Towns (213-95, college: Kentucky) added 21 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Timberwolves. Five Hawks and four Timberwolves players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks maintains fifth place with 14-38 record which they share with defeated Timberwolves. Timberwolves lost their thirteenth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 35 games lost.
