Rather predictable result in Imola where sixth ranked GSA Udine (13-9) defeated 9th ranked A.Costa IM (10-12) 84-75 on Wednesday. They outrebounded A.Costa IM 43-28 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international swingman Michele Antonutti (202-86) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Latvian Arturs Strautins (198-98) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Anthony Morse (206-94, college: Tenn Tech) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and forward Stefano Masciadri (200-89) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five GSA Udine and four A.Costa IM players scored in double figures. A.Costa IM's coach Emanuele Di Paolantonio tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. GSA Udine moved-up to fourth place in A2. Loser A.Costa IM keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. GSA Udine will face Pompea MNV (#6) in Mirandola in the next round. A.Costa IM will play on the road against Urania Milano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
