Regular Season Round 21: Pato Basquete - Flamengo 71-86

Leader Flamengo delivered the eighteenth victory on Wednesday night. This time they beat 16th ranked Pato Basquete (2-17) 86-71. Flamengo made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) stepped up and scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and the former international forward Leonardo Demetrio (208-94) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard George-Yeye Torres (188-91) with 8 points and 10 assists and American forward Charles Funches (203-88, college: Hampton) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for Flamengo. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-3 record. Pato Basquete lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Flamengo will meet Paulistano (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pato Basquete will play against Botafogo F.R. (#12) and hope to secure a win.
