Regular Season Round 31: Kauhajoki - Korihait 92-76

Very expected game when 12th ranked Korihait (6-24) lost on the road to third ranked Kauhajoki (21-9) 92-76. The game was mostly controlled by Kauhajoki. Korihait was better in second period 19-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kauhajoki players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Korihait's players. It was a great evening for the former international forward Okko Jarvi (193-96, agency: Blacktop Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). American power forward Skylar Spencer (206-94, college: San Diego St.) helped adding 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Kauhajoki's coach Janne Koskimies allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Nick Banyard (203-94, college: UCF) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Henri Ventoniemi (208-95, college: W.Florida, agency: Players Group) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Kauhajoki and five Korihait players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third place with 21-9 record having just two points less than leader Seagulls. Korihait at the other side stay dead last with 24 lost games. Kauhajoki will play against Ura Basket (#10) in Kaarina in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Korihait will play at home against BC Nokia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
